Beacon Hill condo drops for nearly $6 million to top priciest sales list
Homes in Newton and Wellesley also made our weekly tally of the region's biggest sales.
A new Beacon Hill condo with European stylings (think Italian marble and French oak) was the top seller on our weekly tally, dropping for nearly $6,000,000. A 7,861-square-foot home in Newton with a marble foyer came in second, selling for $4,650,000. Two Wellesley properties also made the list.

Located in Maison Vernon in Beacon Hill, this three-bedroom, 3.5-bath third-floor condo features a private deck off the kitchen, hand-carved Italian marble fireplace mantels, French oak chevron herringbone floors, an imported Italian kitchen, and French-inspired plaster moldings. The floor-through home offers 2,937 square feet of living space and comes with a doorman, concierge services, and valet parking. It sold for $5,595,000 on Friday, Jan. 4, according to the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). The listing firm was Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty.
6 Woodchester Drive, Newton
This restored Tudor with a grand inlaid-marble foyer sold for $4,650,000 on Friday, Jan. 4, according to MLS. The 7,861-square-foot home has five bedrooms, five full baths, and three half baths, and sits on 0.87 of an acre. Highlights include a sunken living room with paneled walls, built-ins, and a fireplace; a wet bar nestled in a sitting area; a sunroom; a master suite with a balcony; a ship’s galleon-designed wet bar that has a concealed room to hide spirits; and a game room with a fireplace. The listing firm was Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty.
19 Falmouth Road, Wellesley
A testament to the beauty and grandeur of Shingle-style architecture, this new-build will offer six bedrooms, five full baths, and two half baths in 7,000 square feet of living space. The lot is 0.69 of an acre. The home sold for 3,950,000 on Friday, Jan. 4, according to MLS. The listing firm was the Barber Real Estate Group with William Raveis Real Estate in Wellesley.
22 Croton St., Wellesley
This home “blends classic New England elements and superbly tasteful materials into a perfect floor plan that has open spaces and clean lines for both casual and comfortable living and easy entertaining,” according to its listing with Pinnacle Residential Properties. The six-bedroom, 6.5-bath Colonial offers 8,100 square feet of living space on a 0.64-acre lot with a brick and stonework terrace and a backyard big enough for an ice rink.
