For when you tire of exploring this seven-story, 7,607-square-foot mansion at 89 Marlborough St., it’s good to know you are just two blocks away from Boston Common and steps away from the Esplanade.

The home is listed for $11,000,000 by Ricardo Rodriguez of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.

This is the first time the home is being sold as a single-family dwelling in nearly a century. According to backbayhouses.com, the home was built around 1867 for attorney William Everett.

After changing hands over the years, the home was acquired in 1928 by a woman who then applied for permitting to remodel it into 12 apartments. The property changed hands a few more times until it was acquired in 2010 for $3,450,000. In 2011, the new owner received permission to remodel and turn it back into a single-family property.

Now the home offers five bedrooms, five full baths, and two half baths. In many of the rooms, you’ll find ceilings that range from 13 to 16 feet.

The kitchen boasts custom Shaker-style cabinetry, granite countertops, and top-of-the-line appliances. For when you need a rest, there is also a library with built-in bookshelves, a family room with a full bar, and multiple outdoor spaces, one of which is a roof deck with 360 degree views of the city.

In the home’s basement, you’ll find a fitness area, a playroom, and access to a heated driveway fit for two vehicles.

The property also has an elevator, six fireplaces, a Carrara marble master bath, smart-home controls, and a suite with a private entrance and patio.
