Madonna’s former Beverly Hills home hits the market for $35 million
Madonna, who turned 60 on Aug. 16, bought the property in 2003 for $12 million when she married director Guy Ritchie.
Critics blasted Madonna for her “rambling, egocentric tribute” to the late Aretha Franklin at the MTV Video Music Awards on Monday, but what would they think of the renovations done to the “Material Girl’s” former Sunset Boulevard home?
The French Normandy-style home is now on the market for $35 million.
Madonna, who turned 60 on Aug. 16, bought the property in 2003 for $12 million when she married director Guy Ritchie. She listed it for $28 million in 2012, selling it for $19.5 million in 2013. Since then it has been transformed to one of Beverly Hills best homes, according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.
Built in 1968, the 5,800-square-foot property has eight bedrooms and 14 baths and two guest houses on more an acre. Designed to take full advantage of the climate and indoor-outdoor living, the sunny interior with its vaulted and beamed ceilings opens to a 60-foot pool and spa and a tennis court on the landscaped grounds. The 15-seat theater is surround sound-connected to four other television-viewing areas, and the main house also includes seven fireplaces, a full bar, a fitness center, and staff quarters. The main kitchen sports new custom cabinets.
