Beacon Hill and South End homes lead our list of biggest sales

Beacon Hill capped our weekly list of priciest sales for the second week in a row, with a three-bedroom luxury condominium that sold for $5,500,000. A penthouse in the South End followed, going for $3,400,000, and two homes outside the city — a coastal estate in Marblehead and a Colonial in Wellesley — also made our tally.

This new fourth-floor condo at Maison Vernon blends imported European interiors with American architecture. The three-bedroom, 3.5-bath residence, located in a building that dates to 1917, sold for $5,500,000 on Monday. The 2,937-square-foot home features hand-carved Italian marble fireplace mantels, French oak herringbone floors, plaster molding, a deck off the kitchen, doorman and concierge services, a private terrace, and valet parking.
166 W Brookline St., South End
This 2,402-square-foot brownstone penthouse sold on Friday, July 13, for $3,400,000. The three-bedroom, 3.5-bath home has an open floor plan with white oak hardwood floors, marble bathrooms, bay windows, and exclusive access to a terrace off the kitchen and the roof deck. The master suite features dual closets, a soaking tub, and a separate shower. There’s a wet bar on the third floor. The home comes with one deeded parking space. The building was constructed in 1850, but the unit is new.
17 Bradlee Road, Marblehead
Set on a 1.5-acre lot, this home on Fluen Point was built in 1904 and offers myriad opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and the ocean view — from the heated pool, deck, covered porches, gardens, and stone patios. The 4,700-square-foot home sold for $3,250,000 on Monday. The four-bedroom, 3.5-bath property boasts a formal living room with the original stone fireplace and a coffered ceiling, as well as a master suite with a dressing room, an office, and two porches.
12 Nantucket Road, Wellesley
The master suite in this 7,200-square-foot Colonial has a gas fireplace, a marble bath with radiant-heat flooring, and dual walk-in closets. The home offers five bedrooms, six full baths, and two half baths, and it sits on 0.48 of an acre. The finished lower level has media and exercise rooms, a playroom, and a full bath. There’s a breakfast room off the kitchen and a butler’s pantry off the dining room. The home, which was built in 2017, sold on Monday for $3,125,000. The house also includes a mudroom that leads to a heated three-car garage.
