Beacon Hill and South End homes lead our list of biggest sales

A coastal estate in Marblehead and a Colonial in Wellesley -- also made our tally.

Beacon Hill capped our weekly list of priciest sales for the second week in a row, with a three-bedroom luxury condominium that sold for $5,500,000. A penthouse in the South End followed, going for $3,400,000, and two homes outside the city — a coastal estate in Marblehead and a Colonial in Wellesley — also made our tally.

The three-bedroom, 3.5-bath residence, located in a building that dates to 1917, sold for $5,500,000 on Monday. The 2,937-square-foot home features hand-carved Italian marble fireplace mantels, French oak herringbone floors, plaster molding, a deck off the kitchen, doorman and concierge services, a private terrace, and valet parking.

This 2,402-square-foot brownstone penthouse sold on Friday, July 13, for $3,400,000. The three-bedroom, 3.5-bath home has an open floor plan with white oak hardwood floors, marble bathrooms, bay windows, and exclusive access to a terrace off the kitchen and the roof deck. The master suite features dual closets, a soaking tub, and a separate shower. There’s a wet bar on the third floor. The home comes with one deeded parking space. The building was constructed in 1850, but the unit is new.

There’s a breakfast room off the kitchen and a butler’s pantry off the dining room. The home, which was built in 2017, sold on Monday for $3,125,000. The house also includes a mudroom that leads to a heated three-car garage.
