It was a week of expensive single-family home sales, and a 7,780-square-foot home in Newton topped the list with a $3,188,000 price tag.

Other big sales included a Shingle-style home in Weston with a breakfast room and library, a Newton home that boasts a lower-level bedroom with a private entrance, and a oceanfront property in Swampscott.
