Located in McLean, Va., the Merrywood estate has had its share of fame pass through its doors since it was built in 1919.
The 23,000-square-foot estate on seven acres was Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’s childhood home in the 1940s. According to The Washington Post, journalist Nancy Dickerson and her first husband, C. Wyatt Dickerson, lived in Merrywood, as well.
Currently, according to JLL and TTR Sotheby’s International Realty, Steve Case and his wife, Jean, own the estate. Steve Case is chairman and CEO of Revolution LLC and a cofounder of AOL, while Jean is the CEO of the Case Foundation and chair of the National Geographic Society.
The brick and limestone Georgian estate — which has nine bedrooms, 11 full baths, and two half baths — boasts views of the Potomac River and a wine cellar. There is also a separate carriage house with parking for four vehicles, an office, a security office, and staff accommodations.
The grounds also include a lighted tennis court, a swimming pool, and a pavilion with a full kitchen, exercise studio, changing rooms, and an indoor pool.
