At $5.38 million, this 6,000-square-foot Brookline home was the biggest sale this week
There were also big transactions in Wellesley, Winchester, and Gloucester.
It was quite an about-face from last week; this time all the big sales were tallied in the suburbs. A large home in Brookline sold for $5 million-plus, and a new estate in Wellesley went for just over $3 million. Winchester and Gloucester each saw large homes sell for about $2,600,000.

33 Lyman Road, Brookline
Set on a 0.69-acre lot, this six-bedroom, 5.5-bath, 6,000-square-foot home in Chestnut Hill sold for $5,380,000 on April 7. The home features a two-story foyer, a living room with custom built-ins, a home office, a dining room with French doors and a butler’s pantry, a master suite with two dressing rooms, and a kitchen with a waterfall-edged center island and a breakfast room. Outside, there’s a bluestone terrace and stone walls.
20 Royalston Road, Wellesley
On Tuesday, this new home in Wellesley’s Bates neighborhood with five bedrooms, four full baths, two half baths, and 6,700 square feet of living space sold for $3,175,141. The home is set on a 0.46-acre lot. Interior details include a formal dining room; a master bedroom with a marble bath, a gas fireplace, and radiant heat; and a kitchen that opens to a family room.
7 Aquinas Path, Winchester
This six-bedroom, four-bath, two-half bath, 7,400-square-foot new home is set on a 0.47-acre lot and sold for $2,670,000 on Monday. The home features an open floor plan, four levels of living space (including a master suite with a fireplace and its own living room), and a home theater in the basement. Outside, you’ll find lots of space to entertain in the warmer months.
42 Eastern Point Blvd., Gloucester
On April 7, this oceanfront estate with six bedrooms, two full baths, two half baths, and 4,811 square feet of living space sold for $2,662,500. Along with the main house, which offers spectacular views, an entertainment room, a dining room, a marble master bath, and a large eat-in kitchen, there is also a guest house with two bedrooms, a full bath, a deck, and a five-bay garage. The estate sits on 1.53 acres of land.
