In one of the biggest home sales in the city this year, a penthouse in Back Bay’s Hooper Mansion on Beacon Street sold for $13 million. It was built in 1889, immediately becoming one of the largest buildings in the neighborhood. Its first use was a private residence for Robert C. Hooper and his wife. Hooper was the treasurer and later the president of the Constitution Wharf Company.

The building has been under construction since fall 2014, as it was transformed into six luxury apartment units. There are multiple units in the building still for sale.
