Two beach-front Massachusetts homes make HGTV’s ‘Ultimate House Hunt’ list

After a month and over a million votes, two Massachusetts homes listed for sale made the ranks of HGTV’s “Ultimate House Hunt” 2016 winners.

The contest highlights homes in eight categories: Waterfront Homes, Master Retreats, International Homes, Living Large in Small Spaces, Bringing The Outside In, Kids’ Spaces, Classic Living and Making an Entrance.

A home in Cohasset won in the Classic Living category and a home in Truro won for Kids’ Spaces.

HGTV homes

181 Atlantic Avenue in Cohasset is an 1890 Shingle-style home that is listed for $6,695,000. It has nine bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, 7,039 square feet of living space, and views of Little Harbor from almost every room.

HGTV noted that this winner “is situated on 2 acres with spectacular gardens featured in the American Gardens Program at the Smithsonian.”

21 Crestview Circle in Truro on Cape Cod, built in the 21st-century modern style, has four bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, 6,800 square feet of living and is listed for $5,995,000.

It won for its kids’ room, where “wooden bunk beds, bright patterned bed linens, pillows and a rug make a fun-filled space that opens completely to the outdoors.”

The Truro home overlooks Cape Cod Bay and has some incredible views, as well.
