Polar opposite homes sold for $4 million in Cambridge and Boston this week
A single-family Second Empire home in Cambridge and a renovated condo in a luxury building in Back Bay each sold for $4 million this week. But those were not the only big sales.
Middlesex county had quite the week, with another single-family in Cambridge and a large Arts and Crafts style home in Winchester both going for around $3 million.

Built in 1856 and know as the Loring-Pierce House, this Second Empire home sold for $4.2 million on June 8, well above Cambridge’s $654,000 median home value. The five-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom, 5,215-square-foot home was renovated in 2007/2008 and has historic details, a formal dining room, and a rooftop deck.

On June 9, this two-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom, 2,394-square-foot condo in The Heritage building sold for $4 million, above Back Bay’s $871,000 median home value. Renovated in 2013, the seventh floor condo has 14 windows, marble counters, a den that could be a third bedroom, and lots of amenities in the building.


Built in 1936, this renovated Cambridge home has five bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and 2,473 square feet of living space. It sold for $2.8 million on June 3. The kitchen has granite countertops and a large island, all overlooking a deck and gardens.


This Arts and Crafts style home designed in 1926 has four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and 4,786 square feet of living space. It sold for $3 million on June 3, above Winchester’s $890,200 median home value. Overlooking the Boston skyline, this home has beautiful woodwork, an updated kitchen, and a brick patio.
