Winchester and Beacon Hill both had $5 million home sales this week

To say this week was a big week in Greater Boston home sales would be an understatement. Mutliple homes sold for over $5 million and there were plenty more than broke the million dollar mark. Many of these big sales were in Boston, but the suburbs did not miss out. Check them out.
This home has seven bedrooms, four full bathrooms, three half bathrooms, and 5,723 square feet. It sold for $5.9 million on February 2, which is well above the $778,000 median closing price in town. The home was built in 1928 in the classic Tudor style, has been upgraded over the past 15 years, and is surrounded by a rolling landscape.
60 Chestnut Street, Beacon Hill
On January 29, this Beacon Hill single-family home with four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and 3,282 square feet of living space sold for $5 million, well above the neighborhood’s $732,000 median closing price. The home was built in 1823, but has been renovated. It has two gated parking spaces, a private deck, marble-mantled fireplaces, and a family/media room.
333 Commonwealth Avenue, Apt 22-24, Back Bay
On January 29, this four-bedroom, two-bathroom, 2,796-square-foot renovated penthouse sold for $3,485,000, which is above Back Bay’s already high $1.2 million median closing price. The home was built in 1895 as the Hotel Lafayette and is steps from the Public Garden. It has a foyer, a formal living room with a fireplace and bay window, and high-end appliances.
This five-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom, 4,800-square-foot waterfront home sold for $3,350,000 on February 1, above Marblehead’s $546,000 median closing price. Along with the waterfront views, the home has a circular driveway with a fountain, a three-car garage, an open floor plan, and a private beach.
This English country manor on almost an acre of land with six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, and 8,573 square feet of living space sold for $3,650,000 on January 29, well above Wellesley’s already high $1.1 million median closing price. The home was renovated in 2012, has large entertaining spaces, a breakfast room, a patio with a fireplace, a home gym, and a bar with a wine cellar.
