Though Boston proper had a big week in home sales, with many going for a million or more, so did the surrounding areas. Brookline had a few sizeable sales, but a renovated Georgian Colonial stood out amongst the rest, along with massive estates in Manchester and Wellesley. Check them out.

30 Hundreds Circle, Wellesley

This five-bedroom estate in Wellesley Farms, with four full bathrooms and three half bathrooms, sold for $3,600,000 on January 15, which is well over the already high $1.1 million median closing price in town. The home has 5,843 square feet of living space, a blend of modern and traditional styles with period details intact, and sits on a quiet street, but is also close to the commuter rail.

This price is high even for the $761,000 median closing price in town. The home has an open floor plan, a two-story foyer, a patio, a large private yard, and a wine storage area.

109 Appleton Street, South End, Boston

On January 20, a newly renovated brownstone in the South End with four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and 3,500 square feet of living space sold for $3,550,000, which is above the $880,000 median closing price in the neighborhood. The single-family home is a rarity for the South End and has plenty of original detail, four fireplaces, a garden level media room, and a roof deck with amazing views.
