$4 million modern estate on Marblehead Harbor beat out the competition last week
An oceanfront property in Marblehead and an English Tudor in Newton both went for well over a million this week.
Boston area homebuyers did not seem to slow down much in the first week of 2016, as the trend of big home sales continued. Though there were a few over a million in Boston proper, and those mainly in Back Bay and the South End, the suburbs were the real winners this week. Check them out.

This home right on Marblehead Harbor has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, 2,864 square feet of living space, and just sold for $4,050,000 on January 6, well above the $549,000 median closing price in town. The modern home has an open concept floor plan, cathedral ceilings, a gazebo, rolling lawns, and plenty of views.
