Thanks to the unseasonably warm weather, the run up to the holidays didn’t slow down Greater Boston’s real estate market one bit last week. There were multi-million dollar home sales all over the map, including right in the heart of the city.

174 W Canton Street, South End

Just a few blocks from Copley Square, this home has all the touches you’d expect in a $4.2 million townhouse, including fireplaces in three of the four bedrooms, walnut woodwork and envy-inducing outdoor space.

Built in 1868, the 4,113-square-foot house handily beat its previous sales price of $3 million, set in 2011.

26 Weybridge Road, Brookline

Brookline makes frequent appearances on this round up, but this imposing colonial is really a standout, selling on December 18 for $3,525,000. It’s got six bedrooms plus a gym and media room in the basement.

Every detail in the spacious kitchen is impeccable, and there’s a view into the nearby living room. The landscaping manages to make it feel like a private estate, despite being blocks from Coolidge Corner.

56 Chestnut Street, Weston

This Weston mansion sold for $2.6 million on December 18. The details show why it’s worth the price – from the way the estate’s stone wall blends perfectly into the base of the house, to the way the kitchen flows into the living room.

20 S Cottage Road in Belmont had a big week. This Georgian Colonial brick mansion is being turned into a handful of luxury condos, two of which sold last week for $1,450,000 and $1,495,000. Each unit will have three bedrooms and a variety of high-end touches, plus 9.5-foot ceilings.
