Once a plain rectangle, this property underwent a down-to-the studs renovation that created two condo units with classical influences on the exterior and plenty of space inside.

Steps made of granite slabs lead up to a porch with an ancient Greece-influenced overhang with columns supporting a tympanum. Just inside the front door is a vestibule with a half bath and a tripartite room framed by crown molding and punctuated by recessed lights.

This open space begins with the living room, which is highlighted by a beautiful bay window looking out to the street and a gas fireplace with white mantel. The wide room extends into the dining area, where the wall bumps out with another set of windows, making it a sunny space to set a table for 12.

Next, the walls pinch in to demarcate the kitchen, which is certain to draw crowds of hungry gawkers. There is a large prep island with storage drawers and microwave. The white cabinetry is custom, with lights hidden underneath that draw attention to long counters of white Carrara marble. The subway-tile backsplash is of the same marble. The gas stove has five burners, and the appliances, sink, and stove hood are stainless steel.

A short hallway leads to the master suite, where windows afford hillside views and there is crown molding. A walk-in closet and two double closets flank a corridor ending at the master bath, which has a double vanity topped by Carrara marble, floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, a large glassed-in shower with three heads, and a water closet. The floor? That’s Carrara marble, too, as are all the bathroom floors in this home.

A broad stairwell leads down to an above-ground level rich with sunlight. A large family room greets the eye, as do the double French doors leading to the mahogany deck.

This floor has three bedrooms (including one with an en suite bath), the home’s third full bath (nestled between the other bedrooms), a laundry room, and a mudroom.

This unit comes with one deeded parking space in the garage and one in the driveway.

The listing broker, Michele Friedler of Hammond Residential Real Estate in Brookline, will hold an open house on Sunday, Dec. 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
