This condo in the bridge of a repurposed mill floats above Dorchester
The Lofts at Lower Mills luxury condos at 1245 Adams Street in Dorchester has a few units for sale, one of which is in a unique location.
You can watch the sun rise in the east and set in the west from the same living room in a historic mill building in Dorchester.
The Lofts at Lower Mills, a luxury condo complex housed in a pair of old industrial buildings, has a few units for sale, one of which is in a historic copper bridge structure with windows on both sides.
1245 Adams Street #B406 is one of only four units that have a living room inside of what was once just a walking bridge from the Baker Mill to the Forbes building – two structures that were a part of a textile factory powered by the Neponset River, listing agent Jonathan Keith told Boston.com.

The Lofts complex is right across the street from the old Baker’s Chocolate Mill, America’s first chocolate mill and factory, which has also been turned into loft apartments.
Of the more than 70 units in the Lofts at Lower Mills, the bridge units are the largest that only have one level of living space, Keith said.
The B406 unit has two bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a den, 1,925 square feet of living space and is listed for $800,000. The unit is good for “hip empty nesters,’’ Keith said, who might be coming from larger homes in the suburbs, as it offers room for flexibility with the large living room in the bridge and a den. Keith noted that due to the living room’s size, some people have done a formal sitting area on one end and more of a family room on the other end.
The Lofts at Lower Mills also has a fitness center, indoor pool with hot tub, pet playground, and bike storage.
