Big sales of the week include the priciest in Boston’s history and a mansion in Wellesley
$15 million for a condo?
Though it is hard to beat the biggest home sale in the Hub’s history, there are plenty of other home sales this week that fell way over the million dollar mark. See this week’s roundup of notable sales in Greater Boston.
300 Boylston Street #1005, Boston
This 5,083-square-foot condo with two bedrooms and three full and two half bathrooms sold on October 30 for the record breaking price of $15.4 million. The residence also has a two-car garage, a massive kitchen, a dining room with a stone floor, and a panel library. Oh, and amazing views of the Boston Public Garden.
409 Commonwealth Ave Unit L, Boston
It was a big selling week in Back Bay as this 3,012-square-foot condo with three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms sold for $4.1 million on October 30. Though these sales are over the top, big sales in Back Bay shouldn’t be surprising as the average home price is $1,999,000 for the neighborhood. This condo is a penthouse in the Bradley Mansion. It has a roof deck with Charles River views, along with top-of-the-line applicances, an open living room, and a formal dining room.
On October 30, this six-bedroom home with six full and two half bathrooms and 8,700 square feet of living space sold in Wellesley for $3,930,000. This sale was well above the $1,650,000 average home price in an already pricey suburb. The Colonial-style home has almost an acre of land, an elegant dining room, a living room with a wet bar, a swiming pool, and a sunroom.
Weston is yet another Boston suburb that is not immune to massive sales, but this six-bedroom home, with five full and two half bathrooms and 6,675 square feet of living space, sold for $2,970,000 on October 30. This recent sale still reaches well above the average home price in Weston of $1,995,000. The home is on a scenic road and has a a two-story foyer, an upscale kitchen, and sits on 1.41 acres of land.
On November 2, this five-bedroom, 3.5 bathroom, 4,234-square-foot home in Gloucester sold for $1,480,000. The waterfront North Shore home sold for well over the town’s average home price of $469,000. The 1866 home has period details, views of the water, and was once owned by Captain Ben Pine, one of Gloucester’s most famous seamen.
