Biggest sales: A waterfront Manchester-by-the-Sea home re-built by a PBS star for $8.65 million
According to the Multiple Listings Service, last week’s priciest home sale in Massachusetts was a property overlooking Manchester Harbor with more than 450 feet of waterfront. It left the market for $8,650,000.
Lanse Robb of LandVest, Inc. sold 3 Nortons Point in Manchester-by-the-Sea on Monday, Dec. 16. The shingle-style home offers five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, and three fireplaces. This is a home for aquaphiles — in addition to the overwhelming amount of waterfront, the property’s nearly three acres includes a grassy causeway leading to a boathouse and private deep-water dock.
Inside too, the 7,163-square-foot home offers sweeping views of the water from nearly all rooms, including a wall of windows in the living space. The residence was built in 1883, and more recently re-built by Tom Silva of PBS’s “This Old House.” The new owners will enjoy elements such as central air, a generator, and radiant heat.
