From the street, a long and winding driveway leads to this sprawling contemporary sitting on a 2.6-acre treed lot that also has an expansive lawn framed by a classic New England stone fence.
A wide walkway of granite slabs leads to the covered front porch, which at 120 square feet is large enough to host a wooden bench.
Through the front door, the 150-square-foot foyer has options: To the left is the dining room, on the right is the living room, and in the center is the stairway to the second floor. Moving straight ahead leads to the heart of the home: the kitchen.
The 196-square-foot dining room has a chair rail, crown molding, baseboard molding, and three double-hung windows on two exterior walls. A central light fixture made of six globes has a black frame the color of a cast iron pan.
The flooring is red oak, which is spread throughout most of this home.
The 675-square-foot kitchen is a great gathering place, compliments of a J-shaped island and a raised bar with seating for four topped by speckled black granite. The island hosts a cooktop beneath four white pendant lights.
Surrounding the island and the raised bar are two layers of solid wood cherry Shaker-style cabinets with a ceramic tile backsplash and more speckled black granite countertops. Some of the cabinets have clear glass doors. The appliances are stainless steel, including a wine chiller. The sink is underneath a pair of large clear glass windows.

Steps away from the kitchen area is a breakfast/dining area occupied by an oval table with seating for four. Beyond the table are three large clear glass doors opening to the 713-square-foot two-level deck. It connects to the bluestone patio that lines the entire rear of the home, 1,614 square feet total.
On the left of the kitchen and behind French doors is the 352-square-foot family room, the kind of space where the homeowner should hand out sunglasses to visitors. Why? The left exterior wall has a set of three large windows with muntins that nearly run floor to ceiling. They jut out of the exterior wall, creating a window seat. There is a cathedral ceiling and on the second wall, a pair of double-hung windows.

In a straight line from the family room is an 320-square-foot office that also has a cathedral ceiling, followed by an 224-square-foot sunroom. The sunroom is the last room on the left side of the house and features double-hung windows on all three exterior walls and its own entry to the rear deck.

The 240-square-foot living room features a working wood-burning fireplace with a brick mantle and two double-hung windows on an exterior wall.

Returning to the foyer and moving directly ahead, the hallway flows into the kitchen. It also provides access to the right side of the house. Off this hallway is the first-floor bathroom with a single oak vanity, a shower stall in the corner, and ceramic tile flooring.
The bathroom is Jack-and-Jill style, allowing its use from the first-floor bedroom. It’s 360 square feet and has a three-window bump-out with views of the deck, patio, and backyard.

Just outside the bedroom is the laundry room, with ceramic tile flooring and space for full-size appliances. This hallway also provides access to the attached three-car garage.
And so to the second floor.
The primary suite occupies a large chunk of this level that also contains three other bedrooms and a full bath. The bedrooms range in size from 196 square feet to 266 square feet. The largest has the added attraction of a private balcony. The 104-square-foot full bath also has its own balcony along with granite counters, a classic vanity, ceramic tile flooring, and a shower stall.

The primary suite is sized to match the overall home. Between the bedroom, the primary bath, and the very large and very private balcony, the suite totals about 1,317 square feet. This tally does not include the two walk-in closets in the bedroom or the third one in the bathroom.
The 575-square-foot bedroom features cathedral ceilings, oak flooring, and a reading nook underneath a double-hung window. There is another pair of windows near where the bed is currently situated. A slider connects to the 246-square-foot private deck that winds around the rear of the home and provides a great perch for morning coffee or a nightcap.
Near the furthest end of the deck, a door opens into the 266-square-foot exercise room currently outfitted with gym flooring. And from there, one can access the full, private bath.

It’s 230 square feet and not a classic rectangle, but instead 23 feet long by 10 feet wide. And the widest point is near the door connecting to the exercise room. That’s also where the whirlpool bathtub is located, just a few steps from the water closet and separate shower. The bath has a Shaker-style double vanity made of cherry with Corian countertop underneath a pair of Shaker-style cherry wood mirrors. Flooring is ceramic tile.
The lower level is finished with a large family room and wide Brazilian cherry-engineered wood for flooring. The final full bath features a single porcelain pedestal sink, ceramic tile flooring, and a shower behind a glass door.
The home has 200 amp electrical service, a security system, ductless central air conditioning, and oil heat.
