It’s a 15-minute walk from this updated contemporary to Long Beach, one of the many attractions in the town of Plymouth beyond its role in American history.
A driveway curves alongside the property as it rises to the plateau upon which the 2,726-square-foot house sits. It’s also a good spot to take in the new extensive deck on the first level, a smaller private deck on the upper level, and a stairway on the left leading to the front door.
The stairwell ends in an expanse of cobblestones before three steps to the wooden porch and the mahogany front door. Beyond is the 131-square-foot foyer that has a stairwell on its left, and an entrance to the kitchen on the right.
Do not stop. Because ahead, is the 211-square-foot living room, where six large windows in two layers dominate the exterior wall, drawing sunlight and giving those inside an excellent view. The cathedral ceiling hosts a light fixture that evokes images of a wagon wheel that shines down onto the luxury vinyl tile flooring, which runs through the house.

To the left of the wall of windows is a propane gas fireplace framed by black porcelain tile topped by a rustic wood mantle. Built-in shelving flanks the fireplace.
To the right is the 109-square-foot dining room. Most often these rooms are closed-off affairs with built-in shelving or a fireplace serving as the key feature. Not here, where the room has a large slider — plus one window — to the deck ringing the home. That’s not to say there aren’t classic details such as the central light fixture of white globes and the planks of lightly stained pine from which it is suspended. There is also a set of double-hung windows.

The 182-square-foot kitchen follows. It shares the planks of pine ceiling first encountered in the dining room. A pair of pendant lights is above a white island with a quartz countertop that seats three. The white cabinets are made of maple with birch doors. The countertops are white quartz, and the backsplash is matte white porcelain tile. Appliances are mainly stainless steel, including the propane gas stove.

Back in the foyer, a hallway on the left leads to a section of the home with a 78-square-foot full bath and a 167-square-foot bedroom currently being used as a family room. The room has a central light fixture and sliders to the wide deck defined by a cable railing.
The bath is the last room on the left and has a floating single vanity with a white ceramic top and a shower behind clear glass doors. The shower flooring and backsplash are a mix of ceramic and porcelain tile. This bathroom also contains the laundry closet and a linen closet.

The second floor hosts the primary suite, two additional bedrooms, and a third full bath, all connected by a 15-foot-long loft that overlooks the first level.
The primary suite is on the left side of this home and is accessed by a short hallway that leads directly toward the 34-square-foot walk-in closet. To the right is the 167-square-foot bedroom. There is an gray-blue accent wall and a slab of pine planks with recessed lighting running along the ceiling in the rear of the room. A slider opens to the private exterior deck that offers seasonal ocean views, according to the listing agent, Christine Fiske of eXp Realty in Boston.

The 67-square-foot private bath is at the other end of the suite and has a double vanity made of oak underneath individual mirrors and a pair of light fixtures with three white globes. The white countertop is quartz. The shower has a clear glass door, a bench, and a single large circular showerhead. The flooring and shower backsplash are a combination of ceramic and porcelain tile.
At the opposite end of the house are the secondary bedrooms (118 and 106 square feet), and each has a pair of double-hung windows on two exterior walls.
The 54-square-foot full bath has a single walnut vanity with a white counter and gold fixtures. There is a combination shower/bath while the flooring is a mix of ceramic and porcelain tile.
The lower level has a 202-square-foot family room, access to the garage, storage, and a utility closet. There is also a wet bar with a butcher block counter and wood cabinets set aside in a 66-square-foot area. Nearby is the final full bath. It’s 40 square feet and has a shower insert, a single vanity, and luxury vinyl flooring.
As part of the updating, the front lawn has been cleared to create space for a play area or fire pit. The home also has a high-efficiency electric heat pump.
