This is a whole new place, this bi-level condo in a former two-family in a quiet West Roxbury neighborhood.

Off the common foyer, you step directly into the living room of the unit, where the refinished oak floor has a wash that softens the shine, reminiscent of a pleasant foggy day, and there is a walk-in coat closet.

But the visual hero here is the off-white stone that wraps itself around the fireplace and the half walls with thin columns that define the entry into the dining room.

The living room has been expanded, and now you can walk past the fireplace on either side into an alcove with red brick (a vestige of the original exterior chimney) that could serve as an office or a sunny reading room.

The dining room features a china hutch with leaded glass. Both the dining and living rooms have raised-panel wainscot.

The kitchen has been updated with a dappled gray-granite counter, a subway tile backsplash, white cabinets, a laundry setup tucked in the back, and a two-person dining area. The appliances are stainless steel, including a gas stove with a grill. French doors lead to a heated sun porch that overlooks the flat, fenced-in, and landscaped backyard.

The condo’s two bedrooms are comfortably sized, and the larger of the two has a nicely sized closet.

The full bath on this floor offers a tub and shower combination and a single vanity; marble graces its top and the floor.

The walk-out lower level features a drop ceiling, laminate flooring, and basement windows at grade. The space is roomy and, thanks to the support pole and the careful placement of furniture, feels like two rooms.

The area maintains the same neutral color scheme as the upper level, but the layout offers a bit of a punch — a wet bar and a wine refrigerator built into a granite counter with space for two seats at one end. There is a full bath with a single vanity on this level.

The unit includes one spot in the detached garage and three spaces in the driveway. The price includes all appliances and fixtures, and the windows and gas heat and central-air systems are new.

The listing broker, Diane Capodilupo of RE/Max Achievers in West Roxbury, will host an open house from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8. Her website is www.dianecap.com. Take a video tour of the home here.
