Here, in this Winthrop neighborhood of single-family homes abutting Boston Harbor, it’s all fly and sigh: The planes from Logan International Airport and the ocean, with its gentle breezes, are both visible past the backyards of the houses across the street.
The home featured, an American Foursquare built in 1920, has an enclosed porch with large windows to take in the view and welcome those breezes. Stairs lead to the unfinished attic on the third floor, which has natural light from the dormer jutting from the center of the roof.
The basement has been partially finished, adding roughly 700 square feet of living space, with laminate flooring and recessed lighting. This space has been used as a second family room and as an office. The laundry hookup is in the unfinished section, and the home has a newer high-efficiency gas furnace.
The house, which sits on a 0.10-acre lot, offers a one-car attached garage. The fenced-in backyard is small and ends in a rocky hill. The owners can access the beach via paths between neighbors’ houses.
