One of Martha’s Vineyard’s beloved “gingerbread houses” has hit the market for $749,000.
Originally known as the “Ann D. Pierce House,” 2 Fisk Ave. is a Gothic Revival beauty built in 1871 as part of the Methodist Campground, whose creation signified the beginning of Oak Bluffs as a unique summer resort. The three-bed, one-bath home, which measures 725 square feet, fuses coral and aqua whimsy with the area’s rich history.

“It’s very quintessential Martha’s Vineyard,” said Julie Walker of Century 21 North East, who has the listing. “It’s really just a cute spot.”
Step up to the freshly painted front porch, an ideal spot to grab a rocker next to the classic arched windows. Head inside to the main living area, where the hardwood floors are painted light green and white beamed ceilings run overhead. The Gothic Revival windows with interior shutters are a fun feature.

Continue into the dining room, and then into the galley-style kitchen, home to blue countertops, white cabinetry, and a recently updated gray-and-white patterned floor. You’ll find the shower-only bathroom around the corner.
The first-floor primary bedroom features white-painted walls, the same green floors, and a closet. It has a window that looks out to the neighboring home. Back in the hallway, there’s a stacked washer and dryer tucked in a closet added in 2022.

Climb the stairs to the second story, where you’ll find two bedrooms. Both have white peaked ceilings, but the first bedroom boasts one of the home’s most unique features: double doors that open to a small balcony. The room has a closet, as well as an armoire. The third bedroom also has a closet.
Back downstairs, a back door off the kitchen leads to a side stone patio that’s waiting for summer barbecues.

The land-lease seasonal property is a half mile from Inkwell Beach and three-tenths of a mile from the ferry. The monthly “land lease fee” is $158. The on-street parking space is $125 a year.
While the home, which is being sold furnished, does not have air conditioning or heat, there is a portable heater and air conditioner onsite.
The seller has made several updates to the home recently, including the gutters, interior and exterior paint, town water hookup, and the kitchen and bathroom flooring. The roof and the shingles were also washed.
The home can be rented out for up to six 6 weeks a year.
