Given that the median sales price for a single-family home in Greater Boston edged even closer to $1 million in May, we wondered which Commonwealth communities and Boston neighborhoods were already seeing that price or more.
A June 18 report by The Warren Group suggested that there were 40 communities, plus six Boston proper locales, at or above that price point. Note that few sales can lead to wide variations. In Alford, for example, there was only one sale, and that landed the Berkshires community on this list :
Five years ago, in May 2019, there were only 13 communities and one subsection of Boston* with homes priced that high:

And 10 years ago in May, there were only seven at that price point, plus a subsection of Boston*:
