Home buyers often have to pay a premium to live on the water, but in Sutton, there’s a lakefront property on Lake Singletary on the market for $749,900.
The three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home was renovated last spring, sits on a quarter of an acre with a flat backyard, and features what listing agent Brooke Funari of ERA Real Estate said is “probably one of the biggest driveways and garages on Lake Singletary.”
“It’s really cozy,” Funari said. “It’s just, it’s very peaceful and I think it would make somebody very happy.”

Houses on the lake rarely hit the market, Funari said, noting that it’s one of the busiest bodies of water in the area.
This 1,948-square-foot home at 39.5 West Sutton Road is nestled into a quiet cove on the western edge of Lake Singletary, which is 346 acres and a 15-minute drive south of Worcester.
The flat backyard, which is dotted with rose bushes, flows from the waterline toward a partially covered patio. A set of stairs leads up from there to another patio flush with the home’s second floor and main entrance.
Just inside the front door there’s a living with new oak floors, four windows, and a red-brick fireplace. The home has neutral paint throughout and white trim.

Stocked with black LG appliances, including a four-burner electric stove, the kitchen features gray Shaker-style cabinets and recessed lighting. Funari, whose family members renovated the home, said they took out part of the wall above the sink so people in the kitchen could see the lake.

The second living room, which is just off the kitchen, offers a panoramic view of the lake, thanks to a wall of windows.

All of the home’s three bedrooms have lake views and cozy nooks. The full bathrooms offer walk-in showers.
Funari’s family also added the two-car, detached garage, which includes an unfinished level that can fit canoes, kayaks, and life jackets.
Open houses Saturday, Feb. 17, and Sunday, Feb. 18, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
