If you’ve ever cursed the traffic gods while trying to find parking during a Red Sox game, or gone to your car to find it had been towed for street cleaning, this listing may be the answer to your parking prayers.
For a hefty $375,000, this parking spot in a heated underground garage at 201 West Brookline St. in the South End promises an escape from any parking nightmares on the streets above.
The spot sits under the former Concord Baptist Church, now a luxury condo complex with units going for as much as $6,699,000.
Though the price for the spot may seem steep — it costs more than an affordable unit in the same neighborhood — it could save drivers money and hassle in the long term. Though Bostonians can park for free with a resident parking permit, finding a legal spot can be difficult and frustrating in a city known for its confounding street layout.
The price is also on par with other parking spaces in the city. According to reporting from the Boston Globe, a parking spot in the Brimmer Street Garage on Beacon Hill was offered for $650,000 in 2015, and two spaces near 298 Commonwealth Ave. and one space at 48 Commonwealth Ave. went for $560,000 and $300,000 respectively.
“Compared to Brimmer Street, it’s a bargain,” Tracy Campion, the agent on the listing and owner of Campion & Company Fine Homes Real Estate, told the Globe.
