This Norwell home offers period character, views of the North River, and a master suite featured on HGTV.

The current owners have carefully restored and renovated the 1930 Gambrel-roofed Cape at 235 River St., according to the listing agent, Sheila Creahan of Compass. “It was meticulously maintained and has so much character.”

The kitchen sits at the center of the home, with sightlines through the dining and family rooms and out large windows. The kitchen also offers granite counters, high-end appliances, hardwood flooring, and a butler’s pantry.

The family room features a gas fireplace and French doors to a deck, and the living room’s coffered ceilings almost give it the feel of an old Boston hotel, Creahan said.

Immerse yourself in nature in the sunroom — with its bluestone flooring and custom floor-to-ceiling arched windows — even in winter. (It’s heated.) The sunroom opens to the backyard.

You can also enjoy the river view fireside in the master suite, which was featured on HGTV’s “Bed and Bath Design” with Joan Kohn in 2000, according to the property’s owners. The suite has a large circular window overlooking the yard and the river beyond it.

In addition to the renovations, the owners also upgraded the home’s technology: It now has an alarm system with eight cameras and a generator, so there’s no need to worry about the next nor’easter leaving you in the dark.
