There are scores of unusual homes for sale across Massachusetts. But this one, tucked on a dead-end street in Southbridge, is truly one of a kind.

Built in 1964 by architect Donald Jasinski, the concrete-and-glass dome is a sculptural wonder set on 1.17 acres. Jasinski was best known for earth-sheltered projects, like his private residence built into the side of a mountain in New Hampshire. While his Central Massachusetts creation isn’t carved into the land, it does exhibit his signature curving walls and ceilings.

Called the Edmondson House, the open-concept abode at 106 Cole Ave. is 2,810 square feet — all of which feel bright and airy thanks to a wave-like set of floor-to-ceiling windows that let light in from all angles. A circular conversation pit, complete with the original wood stove, anchors the living room, and beyond it, a dining area overlooks the yard. The kitchen continues the rounded motif with curving countertops and vintage fixtures.

Two bedrooms come with built-in storage and delightfully retro wood paneling, while the home’s 1.5 bathrooms feature new tiling and a granite double vanity. The bedrooms and a three-season sunroom open to the wooded lot, where there are stone walls and a two-car garage.

The entire home was tastefully updated in 2016 by Nick and Jess Rochefort, the owners of Chamonix Antiques. They decked the place out in period art and furniture, then began renting it out on Airbnb. (“Surrounded by trees, this private oasis feels like a place everyone should add to their respective bucket lists!” writes a recent guest.) An Instagram account for the home, @edmondsonhouse, celebrates its curves, quirks, and retro charm.

Now, the mid-century gem needs new caretakers. Dawn Kelley of Lamacchia Realty has listed the property for $324,900.
