Private Maine island with camp compound that sleeps 10 listed for $499,000
The price just dropped for this property, which is being sold with two boats and a canoe.
If you’re tired of dealing with noisy neighbors and their late-night summertime parties, there’s a private island for sale in Maine and three boats to get you to it.
Located in Nicatous Lake in Hancock County, this five-acre spot known as Brown Island has a camp that sleeps 10 and is on the market for $499,000. The price recently dropped $26,000 for this property, which has been on the market periodically for several years, according to the broker, John Colannino.
This family-style compound comes fully furnished and includes its own flotilla: an 18-foot speedboat, a canoe, and paddle boat, along with a small launch site on the mainland, Colannino said. The freshwater lake is protected by a conservation easement, limiting the development and ensuring that Nicatous stays a “forever wild and pristine lake,” he said.
The camp features a main cabin with a master bedroom, a full bathroom, a living room with a fireplace, and a large deck. There are three additional sleeping cabins, a library cabin, a bunkhouse, and a dining cabin complete with vaulted ceilings and a kitchen.
Additional features include a generator, two docks, a washer and dryer, outhouses, propane refrigeration, wood stoves, and the option for caretaker services.
