Median price of a single-family home in Mass. reaches $382,000

The state’s housing market chugged through the end of 2017 in much the same fashion it had been all year: With prices rising and inventory tight.

The median price for a single-family home in Massachusetts rose 6.5 percent in December, to $382,000, while condominium prices grew 3.6 percent to $355,000, according to data released Wednesday by the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. During that period, the number of sales fell 8.5 percent.
