Incredibly skinny and weird house for sale in Revere
A house for under $200,000 is hard to come by in the greater Boston area, but even someone who’s been holding out for just such a deal might hesitate to make an offer on this Revere home, listed for $192,400.
10-A Roughan Street in Revere is not something you see everyday. The very skinny multi-family home has only 966 square feet of living space across two units. It was built in 1960.
Boston Magazine speculated the home could have been built as a spite house — meaning someone constructed it specifically to annoy a neighbor, perhaps by blocking views.
There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms total across the two units, both of which have wrap-around porches.
And it needs a lot of work. The listing notes that currently the building will not pass Federal Housing Administration, Veterans Affairs, or conventional financing and is not open for inspection or appraisals.
