The Trustees of Reservations will hold its 24th annual South End Garden Tour on Saturday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Artists will be painting in the gardens this year and will sell their works at the reception after the tour. Admission to the reception and sale is included in the cost of the tour: $24 in advance for members and $30 for nonmembers; $28 at the “door” for members and $35 for nonmembers. Proceeds support community gardening in Boston.

The tour begins at Berkeley Community Garden (500 Tremont St.) and features a robust mix of private backyard gardens, small pocket parks, green spaces, and courtyards in the Union Park, Eight Streets, Old Dover, and SoWa corners of the neighborhood.

The centerpiece of Gall’s space is a Kousa dogwood nicknamed “Leo the Late Bloomer,” which provides a canopy to protect shade-loving plants, including the following: pachysandra, impatiens, Jacob’s Ladder, golden moss, coleus, fern, mint, coral bells, hosta, azalea, rosemary, and thyme. – Josh Reynolds for The Boston Globe
