5,000-square-foot Vermont chalet heads for auction. See inside.
It’s the time of year when rakes tame fallen leaves and minds dream of ski vacations. If hitting the slopes is your thing and you have a million or two to spare, a chalet tucked away in the Green Mountains is coming up for bid.
The 5,000-square-foot mountain home, on 0.74 of an acre, was previously listed for $2.2 million. The firm Concierge Auctions, in partnership with TPW Real Estate, is auctioning off the property through Oct. 12. Bidding will be held via the firm’s online marketplace, and upon the closing date, it will sell without reserve to the highest bidder.
Originally constructed in 1961, 50 Quarter Mile Road in Whitehall, Vt., was rebuilt, with completion in 2014. The two-story home is within walking distance to Stratton Mountain Resort. The home features resort-like amenities like a gym and a sauna.
Constructed of a timber-frame exterior, the chalet also has vaulted ceilings, walls made from stones found on the property, design elements using reclaimed lumber, four bedrooms, 4.5 baths, two living rooms with wood-burning fireplaces, a mudroom (a must for any ski country home), and a wine and cellar bar.
Additional features include smart-home technology, flooring with radiant heat, an indoor grill, a laundry chute, and a stone patio.
