This massive 18-acre Georgian estate in Weston sold for $15.6 million
Other big sales this week included a Shingle Style home in Brookline with a heated driveway, a new property in Wellesley with farmhouse-style touches, and a penthouse at Millennium Tower with fantastic views.
It isn’t every week that a $9 million sale in the Millennium Tower isn’t the biggest in town.
This week a Weston mansion, modeled after a plantation home in Virginia, took the cake, selling for $15,600,000.
Rounding out our top four: An 8,000-square-foot Brookline property sold for $6,600,000 and a new Wellesley home went for $3,725,000.

This Georgian estate with nine bedrooms, six full baths, and two half baths offers 12,589 square feet of living space set on 18.47 acres. It sold for $15,600,000 on Friday, Sept. 15. Called Westover Estate, the home was modeled after Westover Plantation, a mansion near Williamsburg, Va., according to its listing. Along with the lavish main residence, which offers classical details, a 4,000-plus-bottle wine cellar, and plenty of formal living spaces, this property also includes a carriage house, a pool, and a pool house.
1 Franklin St., PH 3E, Downtown Crossing
This 3,435-square-foot penthouse in the Millennium Tower offers three bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and floor-to-ceiling windows with incredible views. It sold for $9,000,000 on Friday, Sept. 15. Other features include a private terrace connected to the great room; a master suite with a wet bar, two baths, and dual walk-in closets; and high-end appliances. Building amenities include two valet or self-parking rights, a doorman, 24-hour concierge, a playroom, a 75-foot indoor pool, and more.
181 Clyde St., Brookline
This Shingle Style home with five bedrooms, six full baths, and two half baths in 8,000 square feet is set on a 0.98-acre lot and sold for $6,600,000 on Tuesday. Outside, you’ll find a patio, a kitchen, and a three-season room with radiant heat. Inside, there is a large white kitchen, a wine cellar, gym, media room, and an elevator. The three-car garage is heated — and so is the driveway.
22 Lathrop Road, Wellesley
This new home with six bedrooms, 6.5 baths, and 7,375 square feet of living space set on a 0.46-acre lot sold for $3,725,000 on Friday, Sept. 15. Though the interior is very modern, it has rustic, farmhouse touches, such as paneling in the kitchen and a stone fireplace with a wood mantel. The mudroom is large and equipped with cubbies. In the walk-out lower level, you’ll find a wet bar and recreation and media rooms. Outside, there is a granite patio, a fireplace, and a built-in grill.
