Peek inside Greater Boston’s biggest home sales this week
The hot properties include a town home and a single-family in the South End, a Colonial in Newton, and a waterfront condo in Downtown Boston.
Another week gone by means more big home sales in the Boston area. A single-family home in the South End with 3,981 square feet of living space took top dollar, as it sold for $4,225,000.
A five-bedroom Colonial estate in Newton’s Chestnut Hill neighborhood sold for $4,000,000, while a Boston waterfront condo went for slightly under that, $3,800,000.
And last, but not least, a 1,979-square-foot condo in the South End with a grand terrace sold for $3,000,000.

On Sept. 8, this five-bedroom, 3.5-bath, 3,981-square-foot town house sold for $4,225,000. The home has been completely renovated, offering a mudroom, eat-in kitchen, double parlor living rooms, crown molding, built-ins, marble fireplaces, a media room, library, and wine cellar. Outside, there is a patio, roof deck, and two direct-access parking spaces. The home sits on 0.04 of an acre.

A Colonial with five bedrooms, 6.5 baths, and 7,800 square feet of living space, this home in the Newton section of Chestnut Hill sold for $4,000,000 on Monday. On the first floor, you’ll find a large kitchen with a butler’s pantry, a wine cellar, and a breakfast area, along with a massive center island. Other features include walnut floors, a mahogany study, and a second-floor master suite with a walk-in closet and soaking tub. There is also a bluestone patio and a three-car heated garage. The home is on 0.57-acre lot.

The master suite features dual baths and built-ins. There are two valet garage parking spots, a concierge, and access to hotel amenities.

This three-bedroom, two-bath, 1,979-square-foot condo located on the sixth floor sold for $3,000,000 on Sept. 8. Along with an updated interior, the home boasts a large wraparound terrace with views of downtown and Back Bay. Building amenities include two-car garage parking and a 24-hour concierge.
