Nigerian Military: Missing Girls Located but Rescue Attempt Could Lead to Their Deaths
A Nigerian military official on Sunday claimed he knows where terrorist organization Boko Haram is holding over 200 kidnapped schoolgirls, but fears attempts at rescue would lead to their deaths, according to CNN.

Officials from the US were not able to confirm the information, according to CNN.
The news comes on the heels of a BBC report that negotiators were close to a deal with Boko Haram for the return of some of the 276 kidnapped girls, but the offer was scuttled by the Nigerian government.
The girls were kidnapped while at school on April 14. Their disappearance touched off a worldwide movement on social media, urging governments around the world to help recover the kidnapped teenagers.
The US has deployed 80 military service members to Chad in an effort to find the girls, according to the Associated Press. Chad shares a border with Nigeria.
