Blizzard warning upgraded to include Cape Cod and Nantucket
The National Weather Service has upgraded its blizzard warning to include Nantucket and Cape Cod, as well as Martha’s Vineyard and Block Island.

The warning, in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday, means that winds greater than 35 miles per hour are expected, with drifting snow, poor visibility and whiteout conditions. The agency said wind gusts up to 55 miles per hour, along with heavy snow, will reduce visibility to one quarter of a mile or less at times.
Law enforcement agencies echoed the warning, asking residents to stay inside if possible.
