The MBTA wants public feedback on its proposed fare hikes
Have something to say about the MBTA’s proposed fare hikes? Now’s the time to let the agency know.
The T announced Friday that it has begun accepting public feedback about two fare-hike proposals under consideration.
One of the proposals would boost average fares systemwide by 6.7 percent, the other by 9.7 percent. You can see all of the proposed new fares here.
The T will hold 10 public meetings starting later this month, before the agency’s control board votes on potential increases. Any increase would go into effect in July.
You can also email the T your thoughts about the hikes at [email protected], or leave comments through an online tool that shows how fares would change (which is also available in Spanish).
The T is additionally holding meetings about its late-night weekend bus and subway service, which officials have said they plan to eliminate, as well as proposed changes in commuter rail schedules. Comments about late-night service can also be submitted via email to [email protected].
