Cleveland Circle Chipotle passes inspection, can reopen Thursday
The Chipotle in Cleveland Circle that has been shut down since an outbreak of norovirus earlier this month has been cleared to reopen following a city inspection Wednesday morning.
William Christopher, commissioner of Boston’s Inspectional Services Department, told Boston.com the restaurant passed its final inspection.
“Effective tomorrow, they can go back and do business,’’ he said.
City inspectors told reporters at the scene Wednesday afternoon the restaurant is clean.

The restaurant was shut down earlier this month when about 140 people, many of them Boston College students, fell ill with norovirus after eating there. The location was closed by city inspectors after three critical health violations were found.
Chipotle’s founder Steve Ells apologized for the outbreak in a full page ad in The Boston Globe last week.
