Man in Worcester stolen human remains case held on $100K bail
The 32-year-old man accused of stealing human skeletal remains from a family mausoleum at Hope Cemetery in Worcester was arraigned in Central District Court on Tuesday morning, according to a report by The Worcester Telegram & Gazette.
The judge ordered Amador Medina, of Hartford, held on a $100,00 cash bail. According to the Telegram & Gazette, Medina waived extradition on Monday. He was arraigned on five counts of disinterment of a body, a felony in Massachusetts.
Police officials said Medina claims he is practicing Santeria priest and that he hired someone to get the human remains, which were discovered in his apartment on Friday, the Telegram & Gazette reported.
