A visual representation of the Syrian refugee crisis’s sheer magnitude
The House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday that would put significant restrictions on Syrian refugees entering the country, despite President Obama’s threat to veto the impending legislation.
The bill comes amid fears spurred by last week’s Paris terror attacks, even though those responsible for the attack are part of the group driving hundreds of thousands of refugees out of Syria.
To put the sheer magnitude of this situation into context, The Boston Globe created a graphic of 681,713 dots representing the number of Syrian refugees seeking aylum in Europe, with red dots representing potential terrorists.
See how many are black and how many are red at BostonGlobe.com.
