MBTA conductor greets passengers in French in ‘honor of our friends’
Since the series of terrorist attacks in Paris that killed 129 people and wounded more than 352, people around the world have shown their solidarity with the people of France. (Case in point: People helping those who are #StrandedinUS.)
On Saturday, multiple Red Line passengers tweeted that one MBTA conductor took the opportunity to welcome riders and announce stops in French, “in honor of our friends.’’
The conductor was Michael Tsoukalas, according to MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo.
“The MBTA is very proud of Motor Person Michael Tsoukalas, who has been with the T for 20 years,’’ Pesaturo said in an email statement. “A dedicated employee such as Michael represents all that is good about public service.’’
