Woman dies after being struck by SUV in South End

A woman in her 70s died Wednesday after being struck by a Nissan SUV at about 3:30 p.m. near Tremont and West Brookline streets in Boston’s South End neighborhood, according to Boston police.

Another woman was hit and seriously injured, a police spokesperson said. Both women were transported to Boston Medical Center after the crash.

The driver of the SUV has not been charged. Police have not released the names of the women or driver.
