Stoneham police searching for possible serial bank robber
Stoneham police are searching for a suspect in connection with a bank robbery last week. Police are consulting with the Chelmsford and Reading police departments to determine if the suspect is connected to recent robberies in those communities.
At about 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 24, a man walked into the Citizen’s Bank located inside the Stop & Shop on Main Street. He passed a note demanding money to the teller and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.
“We believe that given the mirror similarities in these cases that the suspect is likely connected to the recent robberies in both Chelsmford and Reading,’’ Stoneham Police Chief James McIntyre said.
Stoneham police are asking that anyone with information call the department at 781-438-1215. They are also working with a FBI Bank Robbery Task Force.
