Maine is probably going to get some snow this weekend
Parts of Maine could see the first real snowfall of the year this weekend.
Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 20s tonight and the mid-20s Saturday night, according to Rich Norton, of the National Weather Service.
Precipitation will be moving overnight, starting around 3 a.m. and lasting into the Saturday afternoon.
The weather agency is predicting northern Maine will get some wet snow, while the southern part of the state will get rain mixed with some snow.
The state’s higher elevations could get between 2.5 to 3 inches, while lower elevations could get up to an inch.
“It will be the first accumulation of the year,’’ Norton said.
Closer to home, northern Connecticut, parts of Rhode Island, and non-coastal Massachusetts are under a freeze watch this weekend.
