President Obama is coming to Boston
You may spot the commander in chief in Boston as you enjoy your day off this Labor Day.
President Barack Obama will be participating in the 2015 Greater Boston Labor Council Labor Day Breakfast at Boston Park Plaza Hotel, according to a Tuesday press release from the labor union organization.
Rich Rogers, the council’s executive secretary-treasurer, said the group is looking forward to the president’s visit.
“We are honored that the President will be joining us to celebrate a labor movement that is needed now more than ever,’’ he said in a statement. “Workers have achieved several major victories to advance fairness and dignity in Massachusetts this year – victories such as earned sick time, an increased minimum wage, a domestic workers’ bill of rights, and other accomplishments that are inspiring workers across the nation.’’
More details about the breakfast, which is scheduled for 9 a.m., are expected to be released Wednesday.
Obama’s return to the Bay State comes a few weeks after his annual vacation with his family on Martha’s Vineyard.
