Whenever U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy gives up his seat on the bench, he might consider making a run at being America’s next poet laureate.

In concluding the Supreme Court’s landmark 5-4 majority decision on same-sex marriage, Kennedy poignantly affirmed the right of all Americans, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, to marry. His poetic words on love and marriage not only made an indelible mark on U.S. law, but also resonated in hearts across the country.
