:thumbs up: Emoji passcodes coming soon

What’s easier to remember: smiling poop-raised hands-heart eyes-thumbs-up, or 6-4-2-8?

Apparently, one-third of 1,300 people polled by the British Intelligent Environments company have forgotten their PINs and “64 percent of millennials regularly communicate only using emoji.’’

The obvious solution is to enable emoji passcodes. And that’s exactly what that company aims to do.

According to Intelligent Environments, its “emoji security technology’’ is easier to remember, more secure, and, most importantly, a lot more fun.

Offering just 44 emojis generates over 3 million passcode options—there’s only 10,000 possible 4-digit numerical combinations.

The brains behind this new technology recommend “building a story’’ to help you remember the sequence. So if you start your day with coffee, drive to work, have a beer when you get home and then go to bed, your passcode could be coffee cup, red car, beer, sleeping face.

The company is currently in talks with banks to roll out the technology over the next 12 months, but you can start planning your emoji story now. There are more than 3 million combinations, after all.
