This Free Christmas Tree is All That Remains of a Once-Promising Love
Christmas normally isn’t the time to celebrate the misery of others, but hey! Free tree!
A Melrose resident posted a a pic of the balsam beauty on Craigslist after being dumped by a callous boyfriend just days before Jesus’s birthday.
“My wonderful (ex)boyfriend ruined Christmas by breaking up with me a few days ago so I’m giving away this stupid tree,’’ explains the poster, projecting some hardened feelings on the hapless tree.
“It doesn’t come with a stand because he bought that,’’ the ad continued, which unfortunately may be an indication that he’s not coming back.
It’s unclear whether a tree can carry bad mojo, but we’re less than two days away from showtime, so if you don’t have a tree, you may as well risk it. You’ll also help a sad Melrosian get rid of a bad memory.
