Tommy Doyle’s in Kendall Square Abruptly Shuttered for Good: ‘Blame the Owner’

Tommy Doyle’s, a Kendall Square staple since 2002, is closing forever, according to a sign posted outside the Irish pub and restaurant. The staff reportedly held a farewell party after being notified earlier in the day that the bar would be shuttered after Wednesday night:

The Tommy Doyle’s in Harvard Square closed last December, due in part to rising rents. While the reason for the Kendall location’s closing is not yet known, the sign out front directed disappointed patrons to “blame the owner.’’
